Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
We're a small but growing company that primarily services golf clubs in the UK, but expanding to clubs around the world. All of our new clients are looking to update their websites when they move over to our custom CMS with club management system, and as such need professional and unique designs.
These must be created initially as mockups in Photoshop for client feedback. We are usually supplied a logo and photographs of the club and course, and usually a mockup of the home page and a single generic content page is sufficient for the mockup stages. These will then need to be converted into CSS onto our system. Ideally you will have the CSS skills to convert the designs, but if you've got a strong portfolio we will consider offering work to those without such CSS knowledge.
You'll have to be receptive to potentially critical feedback, but be able to offer constructive advice to achieve both what the customer wants, and what will ultimately look good to most people.
You'll also have to have a degree of initiative: customers often don't know what they really want, and often we don't have a strong brief to work with. However, the designs must look professional, neat, and very well laid out, including from the mockup stage. You should be able to produce a wide range of designs, in different styles according to the golf club in question. For example, some clubs are extremely high-end, while others tailor to the budget market. You should be able to produce designs suited to the club. Also, they are paying for unique designs, and as such you should be able to produce designs with features that aren't common across all your designs.
In summary: we have an ever increasing amount of design work, and are looking to build relationships with designers, especially those who know HTML and CSS.
Please note:
- All designs will be used on our own custom CMS running on our servers. We are not looking for a full website hosting solution.
