Description
===============
We are looking for an experienced, high-end Joomla web designer and frontend layout specialist to completely modernise our existing corporate web presence. We are moving away from a legacy Joomla 3.10 site and transitioning into a fresh, high-performance Joomla 6 environment.
A clean, vanilla instance of Joomla 6 has already been provisioned, configured, and hosted on our staging servers. This project is not a traditional technical database migration; it is a visual rethink, aesthetic update, and structural layout overhaul.
We possess strong internal IT capabilities, meaning we do not require backend server configuration or extension engineering. We are strictly looking for an expert who excels in modern web layout, typography, visual hierarchy, and clean page-builder execution.
The Creative & Design Scope (Our "Design Gap")
=========================================
While our technical foundation is fully handled, modern layout structure and asset curation are our weak points. We are looking for a creative partner to take full lead on the visual direction:
- Structure & Layout: You will review our existing legacy Joomla 3.10 site architecture and use your design expertise to heavily improve, clean up, and modernise it. We expect you to architect engaging, trustworthy page sections (e.g., modern "Meet the Team" grids, interactive process/service steps, crisp iconography, and elegant client testimonial blocks).
- Content Strategy: As the visual designer, you are responsible for building the structural layout frames. We are completely happy to generate, edit, and paste the actual text content ourselves, as long as the visual structure and blocks are beautifully executed for us to work with.
- Imagery & Asset Curation: You will be responsible for sourcing, curating, and editing high-quality, professional, modern imagery/graphics that elevate our brand identity. Cheesy or generic stock photos will not fit this project. All assets must be optimised and delivered in Next-Gen formats (e.g., .webp) to protect site speed.
Technical Scope & Stack
========================
- CMS Core: Joomla 6 (Latest Stable Branch)
- Framework/Builder: JoomShaper Helix Ultimate & SP Page Builder 6 Pro (Active premium subscription provided by us). We want to utilise a premium JoomShaper template layout as our canvas unless there is a strong design reason not to.
- Source Material: Our live Joomla 3.10 site will be provided for raw copy extraction and layout comparison.
- Staging: Full administrator access to the new Joomla 6 staging environment is ready to go.
Key Milestones & Deliverables
=========================
Phase 1 (UI/UX Concepts): Review the legacy site and propose template customisation paths, a typography plan, a cohesive imagery mood board, and initial layout concepts for the Homepage.
Phase 2 (Core Page Build): Build out the custom responsive layouts inside Joomla 6 using SP Page Builder, populating the new page sections and placing our content/placeholders cleanly.
Phase 3 (Mobile Polish & Handover): Ensure absolute fluid responsiveness across all device breakpoints, optimize the layouts for Core Web Vitals (speed targets), and ensure clean asset loading before handover.
Freelancer Requirements (How to Apply)
===================================
Please do not send a generic, automated copy-and-paste proposal. Because we have deep technical familiarity with the Joomla ecosystem, automated agency bids will be archived immediately. To be considered, please ensure you answer our application questions and provide:
- Links to 2 or 3 live websites you have personally designed and built specifically using Joomla (v4/5/6) and the SP Page Builder / Helix ecosystem.

Could you share the current Joomla 3.10 website for review?
Approximately how many pages will require redesign in Phase 2?
Do you already have brand guidelines, colours, typography preferences, or should these be refined as part of the project?
Are there any competitor or reference websites whose design quality aligns with your vision?
Will all imagery be newly sourced, or is there existing photography that should be incorporated?
Which JoomShaper template are you currently considering as the foundation?
Are there any specific Core Web Vitals or performance targets you would like to achieve?
Do you expect wireframes/mockups to be approved before implementation, or should design decisions be made directly within SP Page Builder?
Is multilingual support required now or planned for the future?
Beyond the homepage, which pages are most important from a business and conversion perspective?
