Upgrading current OpenCart design/theme

Description of every page: Hello,

I run the platform www.taobao.nl. It is based on OpenCart 1.5.5.1 and the theme Gazal but the look & feel is not up to date anymore. I want Taobao.nl to give a 2016 impression again.
(i can give example websites with the style i’m looking for)

The platform connects to the system of 3rd party, so the improvements are limited to adjustments in the current theme. (there is a testing location available).

The assignment is to create a new design for the below pages and implement it on a test location. (the logo will also be replaced so you can disregard that)

To see what’s possible, check www.36.pl (in Google cache, because its not live anymore). That website was based on the same platform with the same Opencart theme Gazal.
