Description
We seek a experienced web designer to develop a new Shopify-integrated website for our catering supplies business. Our current site on BigCommerce has proven effective for several years but we wish to transition to a platform centered around the Shopify experience. The new site should replicate our existing category structure and information architecture to maintain familiarity for our customers.
The designer should be highly proficient in UI/UX design principles and have extensive experience designing for the Shopify platform. Front-end development expertise in HTML, CSS and JavaScript is required to create a visually pleasing and fully responsive website. Key features include a homepage displaying new product releases. Internal pages should allow browsing catalogues by products.
New products will also need to be prominently featured and dynamically populated from our Shopify profile. Seamless Shopify integration throughout the site is essential to enhance the product discovery and consumption experience for visitors. The finished site must load quickly on all devices and provide an intuitive user journey complementing the Shopify platform. Usability testing and fixes will be required before final launch. We welcome bids from designers confident in their ability to match or surpass our current site's functionality and appearance within Shopify's framework.
Our current website is www.cateringessentialwarehouse.co.uk

Thanks for updating the project description. I’ve reviewed the revised scope and would like to clarify a few details so I can tailor the build exactly to your expectations:
Are you planning to retain your current product catalog and content structure exactly as-is from BigCommerce, or are there any updates or refinements planned during the migration to Shopify?
Will product data (SKUs, descriptions, images, categories) be migrated manually or should I plan to assist with that as part of the build?
For the “new product releases” section on the homepage, should these be dynamically populated from a specific Shopify collection or based on a tag/filter system?
Are there any third-party apps or integrations (inventory, reviews, analytics) currently used on BigCommerce that you'd like replicated or replaced on Shopify?
Once the Shopify build is complete, do you require assistance with redirect mapping or SEO preservation from the old URLs?
Let me know when it would be best to align on the answers, happy to accommodate your timeline. Looking forward to collaborating on a smooth and modern migration.
Best regards,
Cornelius.
