Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
My name is Costa Vaggas and I own a small photography business. I have a website at www.first2xl.com but the problem is that it is all Flash so Google's spiders cannot see it. It is a US-based template site which I pay £120 per year for. I love the look and feel of the site but it is of no use to me if it cannot be indexed and searchable. To tackle this I began to create a similar site using Joomla (see www.habitatonline.co.uk). To be honest with you, even though it is nearly done, I do not have the time to dedicate to completing it.
I stumbled across this site by accident (totally not looking for anything even remotely connected with website design) and I found an ad placed by Danette D. He was offered a website for £130 to include domain name and hosting. My curiosity was aroused when the quote pointed to www.mitraphotography.co.uk as one of the sites that had been built (I notice that also uses a CMS). Whilst I do not like some aspects of the site such as the portfolio, it is good value for the price. I also like the speed of the site (as you can imagine a Flash site can be slow on older computers).
So anyway, I have jabbered enough. Would you be interested in building a site that mirrors the features and capabilities of www.first2xl.com? My site has the features of the Mitra Photography site plus an MP3 player, video player, document displays, multiple galleries, search functionality, a lightbox, the ability to set different pricing structures for different galleries, option to purchase by credit/debit card, a private gallery for clients, client membership, statistics, slideshow, unlimited storage, bulk uploader, 25 Gb bandwidth per month, ability to show large images, watermarking, SEO, etc.
In addition to this, I would like the ability to create web blogs, web forms, database tables, members-only areas, create event calendars, send email newsletters, and ideally some kind of website backup and security. As you can see, I am not asking for much :-)
I think I have a great bunch of features and a nice site but as I stated previously, there is not much point having all this if people are not seeing it. Having said that, I have had 1000 visitors in the last month with 12000 hits, but as I am sure that you are aware of, visitors does not mean sales. Hence, I am trying to make myself searchable online and have a greater Internet presence.
Is this something you can help with? Please let me know ASAP. Failing that I will be going over to Soholaunch/Vodahost and using their quite attractive solutions in the New Year.
Have a great day and I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind Regards,
Costa Vaggas

PS apart from my site, I like earthly feeling sites such as the first page of Mitra. I also like sites such as Nick Fallowfield-Coopers at http://www.nfcuk.co.uk/index.html., the speed of Michael Raffin’s site http://www.miaphoto.com/ the cleanness of Laura’s site http://lkmphotography.com and the elegance and simplicity of Suzanne’s site at http://ssturgill.photobiz.com.
