Description
Experience Level: Entry
Description of every page: March 6 is internationally recognised “Purple Day”, the one day in the calendar year which is dedicated to epilepsy awareness. This is usually a great opportunity for our fundraising team to encourage people to join in Purple Day to raise awareness and funds for epilepsy.
We already have a webpage created: http://youngepilepsy.org.uk/get-involved/purple-day
We’d like to create a static banner for the website homepage as well as a coverpage banner for Facebook, to promote Purple day and get people to sign up and get involved.
Ideas for the visual style: Should follow style of existing website
Website url: http://youngepilepsy.org.uk/
Website information: Young Epilepsy is a national charity working on behalf of children and young people under 25 living with epilepsy.
Extra notes: Dimensions:
Website banner dimensions: 1110 x 260. However there is a white overlay on the banner which sits on the left which is 330 x 120. So any design needs to ensure this overlay does not block anything significant on the image: http://youngepilepsy.org.uk/
Facebook banner dimensions: 851 x 315. Again there is a small overlay on the bottom left, half which overlays on the cover. The full size of the overlay is 170 x170: https://www.facebook.com/YoungEpilepsy
Style:
The banners need to encourage people to take part in Purple Day from a fundraising point of view, whether arranging a tea party themselves, getting their office wearing purple and making a donation, organising event etc.
The design needs to be fun and engaging and should include images of fundraisers. There’s no need for it to contain the Young Epilepsy logo, but there needs to be a strong, clear call to action “Join in today”. It should also include the date on both banners, so it’s very clear immediate when it is.
Designs must suit the existing style of the Young Epilepsy website. Images of people doing something for Purple Day in the past can be provided. The imagery itself can be a one picture or a montage of pictures, it really depends on what works best. One of the issues we have is that the homepage banner is very narrow, so getting a suitable image to work in this page is not easy.
Examples of what we’ve used in the past are attached, however we need a refresh of the design to make it more appealing.
