Overview
We currently use WordPress with Gravity Forms + Gravity Wiz (Gravity Perks) to collect job data from our field technicians. The system works but needs modernising, stabilising, and improving for field use. We are looking for a developer experienced specifically with Gravity Forms and Gravity Wiz to rebuild our existing form(s) into a more reliable, user-friendly, and offline-tolerant setup.
What We Want (Key Requirements)
1. Keep our existing platform
We want to stay on WordPress, and continue using:
Gravity Forms
Gravity Wiz / Gravity Perks
Our existing plugins and ecosystem
This project is not a rebuild on a new platform — it is an upgrade + optimisation of our current form workflow.
2. Modern, clean, mobile-first UI
Technicians use these forms onsite on phones/tablets, so we need:
A more modern look and layout
Larger, easy-to-tap fields and buttons
A smoother multi-step flow
Faster load times
Better separation of sections/pages
Improved conditional logic when fields appear/disappear
3. Reliable saving and resuming
This is critical.
The new setup must:
Autosave progress mid-form (local device + Gravity draft/partial entries)
Allow the form to sit idle for 1 hour+ without losing data
Let the technician reopen and continue exactly where they left off
Prevent data loss if the internet drops or the browser closes
4. Must work in low or unreliable internet areas
Technicians often have weak or no signal.
The improved form needs to:
Load consistently and quickly
Allow continued filling even with poor connection
Avoid freezing or failing to load fields
Recover gracefully from network interruptions
(We are open to small enhancements like localStorage autosave or PWA caching if needed — as long as Gravity Forms remains the core system.)
5. Data flow must work correctly
Information must pass properly from page to page
Conditional logic should function reliably
Repeatable sections should behave smoothly
File/photo uploads must be stable and recoverable
6. PDF + email workflow at end of form
When the form is completed:
Generate a clean, branded PDF (Gravity PDF or similar)
Automatically email the PDF to:
The customer (email collected from form)
Our internal team
PDF must include all relevant form data in a clear layout
7. General clean-up and optimisation
We would also like:
Faster loading times
Removal of unnecessary scripts/styles
Better caching strategy for mobile users
Streamlined Gravity Wiz configurations
Improved reliability overall
Deliverables
Redesigned Gravity Form(s) with modern UI/UX
Fully tested autosave, resume, and idle handling
Improved stability in low-signal conditions
Updated PDF template + email notifications
