Apologies to those who applied to the previous post, which has now expired. We’re now in a better position to appoint someone for this work.

We’re looking for an experienced freelance WordPress developer to provide support with our existing company website.

Our website is built using a bespoke WordPress CMS, so the successful freelancer will need to be comfortable working within an existing, customised WordPress framework rather than using a standard off-the-shelf theme or rebuilding the site from scratch.

We’re an architecture practice and are looking for someone who can help with a small number of immediate improvements, with the potential for ongoing support as and when required.

The initial work is likely to include:

- Creating a small number of new pages within the existing CMS
- Making updates and improvements to existing pages
- Working within the current bespoke page templates and functionality
- Making minor technical amendments where required
- Advising on improvements to the website where appropriate

We’re looking for someone who is confident understanding and working within an existing bespoke WordPress setup, and who can make changes without disrupting the existing functionality or design.

An appreciation of design and experience working with professional services, architecture, property or other design-led businesses would be an advantage.

We’re open to remote working, although UK-based would be preferable.

We’re ideally looking to establish an ongoing relationship with someone we can return to for website updates and development work.

    As the site uses a bespoke WordPress CMS, could you let us know whether the existing setup has a staging/development environment for testing changes before they’re pushed live?

    Also, are the new pages expected to use existing page templates/components, or will any new bespoke templates or functionality be required?

    Can you share the company site URL?
    This will allow an assessment / critique of the site and in turn a proposal that includes some, if not all, the strategy for implementing your initial requirements.
