Description
Experience Level: Expert
I am an experienced illustrator and artist with a start up clothing line.
What I need:
An experienced tailor/designer, who can receive measurements, sketches and details from me over email and produce a high quality dress prototype. You need to be skilled in sizing, pattern making and design to a high standard. I have full illustrations of the dress which I will send you. I want it to be made in a stretchy material and in a 50’s film star style with a retro look. I will own all rights to the design as this is a work for hire, although my intentions are, if all goes well, that this could be a lifelong collaboration relationship with more designs and quantity to follow, so you need to have the ability/manpower to take on larger quantities of the same order.
Specific expertise:
I need an experienced tailor/designer who can reliably make high quality dresses of varying style, size and material. Communication is essential. I need to find someone who has the ability to take on larger orders if my business idea grows and you would need to have the access to the materials and labour needed + the possibility to get clothing labels for the garments. It all starts with the prototype. If that design turns out as I hope then I will need it to be made in more sizes and colours with more designs to follow.
Other information:
I will require a single dress prototype to be made so I may check quality, once I have determined the production standards are acceptable, more orders will follow. My budget is made on a per dress basis to start with. Please show me photos of relevant work you have made along with a description of what you can provide that other’s may not. Also please include all the expenses in your bid, fabric samples, postal fee, the pattern + the finished prototype. Depending on what we agree on and the price I might ask for the same prototype in two different colours (same fabric), so please also let me know what the price would be for this.
Time frame:
Time for delivery is flexible but the faster the better. I rather wait a little to get the fabric and the design right than having it delivered in a rush. Deadline no longer than 3 months. Preferably we can start by choosing the fabric which I would like to receive a small sample of via post before the prototype is made.
Love to hear from you very soon and happy bidding.
Best regards
Linda
