Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
A new upmarket ladies fashion brand is looking for a reliable and hardworking fashion designer and pattern cutter to design a range of wool and tweed jackets and coats.
The designer must be able to work from current mood boards to design items to the brand's specifications - with particular emphasis on fit and style.
After design, patterns must be provided in order for samples to be made.
As well as samples, we require the pattern cutter / seamstress to provide a limited number of completed items (no more than 20) to be used in a ready-to-wear range. As well as this range the brand also intends to offer a bespoke service where the standard size jackets can be adjusted to fit the customer (basic alterations, such as sleeve lengthening, waist elongation and body lengthening). As this service is a bespoke and not a continual service this will be paid on a per-jacket basis to be agreed at a later stage. We do however require a seamstress that can agree to provide these jackets on an ad-hoc basis.
We would however consider taking on two different people - one as a designer and pattern cutter and another to make samples and finished pieces - preferably if the two people have worked together before or can recommend the other.
As the brand is a start up it is essential that the designer can work closely with the brand to avoid repeated sample production to reduce costs.
Please can applicants give details and preferably pictures of previous work when applying.
Thank you.
