Description
Experience Level: Entry
Please read properly before accepting, If you could help me pick a topic then it would be fine if not I can give a topic. Requires to be done in less then a days time. Have to meet criteria as stated. Thank you
Topic: Describe, Illustrate and Interpret the concept of “Public Relations (PR) and Advertising in the
Digital Era”.
Based on the theme “Public Relations (PR) and Advertising in the Digital Era”, you will need to set out
to describe the basic definition of ‘PR and Advertising’, then critically discuss, argue and illustrate key
ideas and concerns surrounding the topic. Concerns here may include discussions on challenges and
impact of the changing landscape, or looking into ethical concerns of PR and Advertising in the Digital
Era.
You are required to relate your discussions to ONE (1) case study (either local or international) to get
your arguments and ideas across.
The purpose of this is to get you thinking outside the box and think about how information
can be presented in new creative ways using technology. It does, however, require the same level of
background research and care that you would dedicate towards a traditional essay.
Based on the topic above, you are required to:
1. Create an Animated Slideshow (using PowerPoint only) to discuss and present your ideas on the
topic.
Duration of the final video should be about 3 to 4 minutes in length (max).
It should contain no more than 20 slides, so you need to consider carefully, which
elements to include in this slides.
The slideshow will be made to auto play with each slide changing after a defined period
of time.
You may include images and videos in your slides.
It is important that your work communicates clearly and effectively in visual and textual
domains, and that the timing of slides works in terms of reading/viewing speed for the
given audience and situation.
Your slideshow should be informative and have appropriate depth, and communicative
well to its intended audience.
As there is no in-class presentation, your slides need to be prepared in such a way that
they are able effectively tell your story on their own.
In order to save your PowerPoint file as a slideshow, simply click on 'Save as' and then
select either Windows Movie File, MPEG-4 or PowerPoint Show.
* If you include video clips and/or images in your presentation, make sure they are in low resolution as
otherwise the file size of the presentation might be too big to upload.
2. To write a Research Summary (Essay Word Document) which will basically be a summary of all the
research (academic sources) you have done on the topic. The submission should include the
following:
A 1000 – 1500 words write up on your background research.
You are required to have AT LEAST 8 academic sources to ensure understanding of the
topic. This means using Journals, Articles, Books, News Clippings, etc. as your main
sources.
You need to consider wisely which information to be more detailed about in the
research write-up, and which to be expanded more in your video presentation so as to
not exceed word count and time limit for both video and write-up.
Reference all your sources for the research in Harvard Referencing Format.
For Images, Video and Audio, you are to use a separate Intellectual Property Rights
(IPR) Log and submitted in a separate word document.
