Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
We live in Bristol and have converted our front garden into parking spaces. Only too late in the process did I realise that when they say that you need to apply for 'planning permission to drop a kerb' what they actually mean is that you need 'planning permission to convert the garden into parking spaces' (which then requires the kerb to be dropped)! The project is now finished. We need planning permission because the property is a flat and not a whole house. I am not remotely concerned that we will be denied permission as almost all neighbouring properties have off-road parking.
Although the project is small we had to contend with live gas and electricity mains which both added to the time it took and the expense. To save money I have therefore tried to do the drawings myself. I have accurate before and after measurements and have tried to do the plans firstly by hand and then by using a piece of free on-line software. Unfortunately the planning dept. of Bristol City Council have rejected the plans saying that they are not properly to scale.
Thanks very much,
Nick
p.s I've just noticed that you're in Yeovil. My google search result told me that you were in Bristol. If you're too far away I would be grateful if you could recommend somebody closer.
