Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: less than 1 week
Need to remove two internal solid walls so would like calculations for RSJs/ pads/ piers/ frames etc (as required).
Property is 3 story residential house with a flat concrete roof, traditional brick cavity (filled) construction (c.1965).
Ground floor: the square section of wall as circled in the attached floorplan needs to be removed completely. There is an existing RSJ from the rear of the building to this wall section (marked in blue) where a wall was removed previously.
2nd (top) floor: there is a single skin solid wall dividing the two bedrooms which needs to be removed (circled on the plan). There is no solid wall directly below this so unsure if this is load bearing. The adjacent wall to this partitioning the bedrooms from the landing is a stud wall with glass panels. Directly below on the 1st floor the wall is largely a floor to ceiling glass partition (very 60's!).
I can provide exact measurements this weekend including building height if that helps give you an indication of the loadings. I can also take detailed pictures of any areas you need (going through a purchase now so will need a day or two to arrange access with the estate agent).
Drawings/ details and calcs must be suitable to instruct builders to quote/ buy RSJs and for the building regs notice (if inexperienced with UK regs please don't send a proposal).
Feel free to contact to me for more info if needed.
If there is enough info for you to send a proposal, please also include your availability and when the output will be delivered (on commencement of course as you probably need pics and measurements from me).
If you're near the South East and willing to visit in person, the postcode area is: BN11 4NX, please add an optional price to include your visit/ survey (15mins from Brighton, 1hr 15min by train from London Victoria).
Thanks,
Nav
