Description
Experience Level: Expert
We want to change the current design of the front of the house, remove balustrades and seek a more contemporary look that matches well with the rear and East side of the house. We cannot add more to the volume of the property, we cannot move doors or windows, we do not plan to change the style and design of the ironwork in-front of windows. We do plan to add sliding glass doors/windows to the ground level terrace at the front right of the house.
We would like to see a series of alternative contemporary designs for the facade and above the bay window. We do not plan to make any changes to the rear or East side. The artificial stone balustrades were added a few years after the house was built in 1985. It is located south of Alicante in Spain. The climate is semi arid and palm trees are in abundance. The large terrace itself serves little purpose and is rarely used. The house faces South so receives a lot of sun and heat during the summer with temperatures to 33C. Wood would therefore not be a good element to use. It would be helpful to protect the suns heat from the facade and west side but this could be done with more planting. Further photos are available. We are happy with the current design of rear and East side but the front facade with the terrace has always been something we have not been happy with. The Front facade is 12.75m and lateral side is 11.50m.
