Description
Experience Level: Expert
Information for the business: Weekly newspapers
Industry: Publishing/Journalism
Design details: We operate two weekly US-based newspapers, the Daytona Times (www.daytonatimes.com) and the Florida Courier (www.flcourier.com); both small broadsheets (44" web page). DT, published on Thursdays, is 8 pages. FC, published on Fridays, is 12 pages (Pages may increase, depending on ads submitted.) Papers are well-established. DT is 39 years old. FC is 26 years old.
(To see this week’s newspapers as pdfs, go to each website, scroll down, and click on THIS WEEK’S DAYTONA TIMES and THIS WEEK’S FLORIDA COURIER.)
We work completely in cyberspace, so dependable broadband is required. Stories (Word documents) and pictures are uploaded to our Dropbox usually Fridays to Wednesday evening. You will download, lay out, and return pdfs. We will proof them and return a list of corrections. Deadline to upload final pdfs to our printer for both newspapers is midnight Eastern Standard Time (US) on Wednesday night/Thursday morning.
Our current award-winning designs are outstanding. Maintaining excellence in graphic design is important. Two experienced part-time designers could get the job done, rather than one full-time designer subject to illness, sudden emergencies, etc.
Please upload work samples in pdf if you intend to bid. Bids without samples will not be considered.
Ideas for the visual style: Sharp and professional
