Description
Experience Level: Entry
Hello,
We are looking for quotation and time scales of structural calcs for the description below.
We have recently pulled down the old kitchen and conservatory which is shown in the old floor plans of the house. In the photo you can see that bottom rear of the house is now exposed. Where the old rear window was there are currently the some old conservatory doors which we have pushed up against the wall just to keep the inside sheltered.
The 1st floor joist span is the distance of the back room over to the stairwell . The wall we wish to knock out is located between the downstairs rear window and rear door. We have recently put in new foundations for the new extension at the back of the house, so whilst we did that we also put in new foundations below the rear door way, where we intend to put up a new nib block wall which we will be resting the RSJ on. The external walls of the house are single skin brick and are about 250mm thick.
The construction of the main roof are supported from purling to purling, with double roman tiles on top. The purling are not on the same wall as the knocked through wall.
The size of the opening we wish to achieve is 3000 wide x 2500 tall.
Kind Regards
Andrew Crisp
