I have a very new company - just me and a holding page so far - that is all about filing patent applications and then creating commercially viable simple products based on said patent applications. The UK Patent Office has already indicated that one of my patent applications is likely to result in a granted patent. I have also applied to pitch on Dragons' Den.
I am about to file another patent application for a bag concept. Said bag might be better designed in ,say, denim. And maybe with some leather. However it should also work very well if designed in the kind of material that most bags are designed in today; PVC.
I am looking for a confident creative person to create prototypes of said bag. Apart from bringing to life the first physical versions of this bag I want to use the design specifications that you create to order the first small batch of said bag. Therefore if you also have connections and experience dealing with such factories that would help a lot. The main version I am looking to have created is a blue or black denim one.
The bag is to be designed/marketed to be an accessory that a woman would grab after slipping into jeans and a t-shirt on a casual outing. So it needs to be funky. The denim version is to look like a bag that one of the major jeans brands - Wrangler, Lee, Guess, Diesel - might have produced. To facilitate this the denim version needs to have some metal accoutrements like rivets that one finds on jeans jackets.
The technical nature of the concept for this bag, and possibly creating it in PVC, suggests that its first prototypes could be created by an industrial designer or a conventional bag designer. Ideally an industrial designer with experience creating bags might be best to bring this bag concept to life. All said and done I guess that means I would like both conventional bag designers and industrial designers to bid for this project.
I am based in London and it would be ideal if you were at least based in the UK too. I want to be able to meet you as you work on the project. If you have an impressive body of work and you are based on Mars then we will just have to work out how to meet and work together.
I would have to ask you to sign a non-disclosure agreement before revealing details of the project and that would happen after I have filed said patent application.
I think a fee in the region of £400-£600 is fair for this project.
