Description
Experience Level: Expert
The BOB Collective - a multidisciplinary Arts collective that comprises of internationally successful Australian artists who are returning to Australia to conduct a Creative Development residency at the JWCoCA for a new show called "Lines" as part of The Brink Program. The show will be premiered in a performance season of 4 nights at the JWCoCA
Some information about the project:
“Lines” is a cross-disciplinary piece of theatre. This piece explores how physical, musical and visual languages can be used to reach states of absolute connection with each other and our audiences.
“Lines” is an innovative collaboration of acrobatics, live music, performance-based visual arts and dance.
Lines will exhibit not only how these mediums speak to each other but also how the artists can influence and connect meaningfully as human beings.

which has Youtube links of some of our previous research and work as well as bio's of the members involved.
THE WORK:
We would like to commission an animator to come and workshop some improvisation ideas with dance, circus, live music and visual artists to "bring to life" some sketches and ideas that we have.
Or to review online footage of improvisation sessions and liase directly with the visual artist of the show.
The animations would be 2-d "raw" sketches - some as simple as a moving single line. Most of the sketching will be done by the visual artists and we need the animator to make them move.
At the moment we see three short animations of about 3 mins long.
Key dates are:
14th – 19th Nov : First week of CONFIRMED Brink Development residency at the JWCoCA.
• Meeting with the team
Workshopped improvisation sessions
Storyboarding
Preliminary sketches
Designs confirmed
Begin Animations
2nd – 20th Jan :The BOB Collective rehearsal in Sydney
•
• Animations are worked via correspondence
23rd - 27th Jan (Brisbane – The Brink)
Animations at a rehearsalable standard by the beginning of the week
• Review of prior research.
• Integration of director.
• Act/scene construction.
• Evaluation and review - Daily video taping, debrief of the day’s session and notes
29th Jan – 3rd Feb
The Animations should be finished by this week.
Performance (JWCoCA Theatre)
6th Feb – Monday
We are currently taking quotes for this project to submit for funding with Queensland Arts.
The creative residency and support for the performances at the JWCoCA is confirmed.
We would like to discuss a fee for the project and continued royalties for subsequent performances and tours within Australia and overseas.
Please submit a letter of interest and availability for the dates by the 21st April together with a brief CV/website link.
We look forward to hearing from you
