Description
Experience Level: Entry
Hi - we are looking for a logo or mascot emblem for our sailboat. We are currently refitting her to convert from diesel to electric propulsion. We have developed some amateur concepts but would like to see what a professional could do. We are looking for something that embodies the green / renewable energy concept the boat is all about; something crisp and not too fussy. And as with all logos, it should just look cool as well :)
The name of the boat should feature - L'Auréline (note the apostrophe and accent on the e), which is usually presented as "SV L'Auréline" (SV stands for Sailing Vessel). The other text is Prout 46, which is the design & model, and NZ1846 is our registration number. Neither is mandatory if it interferes with the design, but we'd prefer to keep them in there somehow - at least the Prout 46 part.
The logo will be used on our website, social media sites (FB & IG), embroidered on shirts & caps, printed on mugs & stationary, and maybe even printed on our spinnaker (a large downwind sail). High resolution in a few different sizes would be ideal, such that the image doesn't lose it's crispness if we resize it. We would like a colour version on a white background, another on a transparent background, then black on white, white on black and both black & white with transparent backgrounds.
Your proposal should include the initial design of several options (colour version on white background only) from which we can select one and then request up to two rounds of modifications to that design. An estimate of the time expected for this process should be included.
Preference will be given to designers with examples of logo work in their portfolio.
Attached is an example of what we came up with; we rather like the phoenix idea (old boat given new life and rising from the ashes sort of thing) and the sparks are to indicate that she's electric. Please note that we don't want greens or yellows in the palette.
Thank you for taking the time to consider this project and we look forward to hearing from you.
