Description
Experience Level: Expert
Information for the business: I am a new business making home-cooked curries in the UK. This is all about great tasting food, hospitality and a sense of travelling to the countries where these curries are made. My own mother's family is South Indian and this food represents both my upbringing and travels to my aunties' kitchens, but also my travel as a trekking and cultural guide to many countries in Asia.
Industry: Food and Beverage
Brand name/slogan in logo: The Hill Top Curry House
Ideas for the visual style: concept or simple design; to communicate travel to the origins of the curries, mountains, possibly Buddhist stupa but not fixed on that idea, tea house on a hill, again not fixed on that idea
Things to avoid: clip art
Preferred colors: I like the colours of Buddhist prayer flags, but open to ideas and use of 2-4 colours
Where the design will be used: website, food labels, printed and digital marketing
Extra notes: The logo is for a new company in the Peak District National Park, UK, which makes gorgeous home-cooked curries to sell locally. The curries reflect my ethnic background (my mother's family is from South India) and my extensive professional travel (I worked as a cultural and trekking guide living in cook tents for 15 years in 30+ countries, frequently in the Himalayas, Indian subcontinent, Central and South East Asia, Iran and North Africa). I produce authentic curries with exciting flavours from those countries and from my family's kitchen and want a logo that suggests that the food takes you to those places, those mountains, gives you those vistas. This is food from my table to yours, to be eaten at home or on top of a hill. I want you to have fun with this logo and to feel that it represents somewhere or something that you'd like to eat too.
