Create logo from drawing

I have a bit of a special project. I have a logo a friend drew by hand, it's for a company my sister wants to start. It's a tree and a spring below (the company name is actually "Blütenquelle", which means spring of blossom in German...). Two issues:

1. We need the logo digitized, to have in a useable .ai or similar format

2. The spring below looks....strange. It looks almost like a whale spitting up air, and not like a real, flowing spring of water. We need the spring to look fuller, more like a real water spring, maybe coming out of the rocks or something?
