More about us:
New, fun, plus size label aimed at those in their late 20'sto late 30's. We really want to be a move away from the low quality 'fast fashion' offerings currently available in many stores. Empahsis is on good quality key essentials for any wardrobe - something the plus size woman does not get enough choice of. All products are to be made and manufactured in the UK. Medium price range so no £3 tops but equally no bespoke price tags.
More about you:
I'd be interested in hearing from freelancers who can take our designs from a basic drawing / idea and produce accurate patterns and samples before we go into production (looking to go live in June but have our first real collection release for A/W 2011).
Currently looking for a maxi dress, a wrap dress, a boyfriend blazer/jacket and 2 tops to be made up. I have spoken to quite a few companies but would like to hear from people who can prouce our samples in a size 22 to start.
Many firms seem to produce a sample in a size 12 and then leave the rest to grading. Our size range to start will be 20 - 26 and we fel that having our samples made in a 22 will allow us to be more accurate in the final product design. We have also gone to great lengths to research our size guide and feel samples in this size would be a better starting point.
I'll leave that open to questions from yourselves for now. This could obviously turn into a lot more regular work in the future so partcuarly interested in hearing from people who have done a similar role in the past and who are looking to grow their own freelance business. Being based in London myself I would especially like to hear from people in the London area so we could meet to discuss further. Please only reply if you are passionate about what you do and have good attention to detail. We do not want to hear from sweat shop producers. If you have pictures or a portfolio this would also be beneficial. Use of a CAD package would also be an advantage but is by no means essential.
Look forward to hearing from you soon and I wish you all the best with your own ventures.
