Label design brief for ongoing food packaging work
We are looking for ongoing label design support for a range of food products sold across our pub, restaurant and grocery shop.
The work will include labels for desserts, curries, sauces, prepared meals, deli items and other packaged food products. The labels need to feel professional, appetising and consistent across the full range, while still allowing each product category to have its own identity.
What we need
Design labels for packaged food products that will be sold in:
• our pub
• our restaurant
• our grocery shop
These labels should be suitable for both retail display and grab-and-go food presentation, with a clear focus on shelf appeal, readability and brand consistency.
Style and direction
We want the label designs to feel:
• premium but approachable
• warm, inviting and food-focused
• clean and easy to read
• suitable for both traditional and modern food products
• consistent across multiple product ranges
The overall branding should reflect a business that offers quality homemade or carefully prepared food, with a look that works well in both a hospitality setting and a retail environment.
Product types
The range may include:
• desserts
• curries
• soups
• sauces
• ready meals
• bakery items
• chilled foods
• deli products
• seasonal specials
• grocery and pantry items
Design requirements
Each label design should consider:
• product name
• flavour or variety
• weight or volume
• ingredients
• allergen information
• storage instructions
• use-by or best-before area
• barcode space
• pricing area if needed
• logo and brand identity
• legal compliance layout for food packaging
What we are looking for from the designer
We need someone who can:
• create an overall label design system that can be rolled out across many products
• design individual labels as new products are introduced
• keep everything visually consistent
• adapt designs for different pack sizes and container shapes
• prepare print-ready artwork when required
Important notes
This is ongoing design work, not a one-off project. We want to build a long-term working relationship with someone who can support us as new food products are added across the pub, restaurant and shop.
Experience with food packaging design, hospitality branding or retail label design would be ideal.
