I'm looking for an expert knitter and darner to knit up a jumper similar to the one attached in the image. I'd also like it cut-up and darned with colourful chunky yarns for effect. I will provide the yarn, a lovely soft 100% Merino pencil roving in Charcoal and lots of waste pencil roving to darn as you wish. Although, I have provided a rough idea of how I would like clusters of the darning throughout the jumper-same for the back!
The pattern for the pullover which I would like knitted in a size M
Measures:
Width around chest: 96 cm
Full length: 71 cm
Materials: 550g of black pencil roving and waste yarn
Needles size 9 mm, 12 mm and 15 mm.
Tension: 10 sts = 10 cm on needle size 9 mm and stocking sts.
Remember that needle size only is recommended!
Tip! To make a smother change between needle sizes you can knit alternately two rows with thicker and thinner needle before you fully change to thinner needles.
Front piece: Cast on 52 sts on needle size 15 mm and K1 row on WS. Continue in stocking st. When piece measures approx 25 cm changes to needles size 12 mm and continue in stocking st. When piece measures 49 cm changes to needle size 9 mm at the same time as cast off for armholes each side on every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 3 times, then cast off 1 st 9 times = 16 sts rem on needle after last cast off.
Back piece: Cast on and knit as front piece. Cast off for armholes and raglan as on front piece but cast off 1 st a total 11 times = 12 sts rem on needle after last cast off.
Sleeves: Cast on 24 sts on needle size 15 mm and K1 row on WS and then continue in stocking st for approx 15 cm. Change to needle size 12 mm, continue with stocking st and inc 1 st each side on every 3½ cm a total of 10 times = 44 sts on needle, at the same time when sleeve measures approx 40 cm change to needle size 9 m and continues in stocking st and inc. When sleeve measures 51 cm cast off for top shaping each side on every other row:
Size M: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 3 times, 1 st 8 times,
= 10 sts remaining on needle. Now dec in side towards back piece: 1 st on every other row 2 times, at the same time put sts on a thread or stitch holder for neck in side towards front piece: put 4 sts on thread/holder on every other row 2 times. Sleeve is now finished with 8 sts on thread or holder.
Assembly: Sew all raglan seams except right seam back - sew in outermost stitch loops.
Put neck sts from each piece on needle size 9 mm = 44 sts and work in stocking st for approx 10 cm. K1 row on WS and then cast off loosely. Sew right raglan seam and up along collar. Sew sleeve- and side seams in one - sew in outermost stitch loops so that seam doesn’t become bulky.
