Description
Experience Level: Expert
We are fitting out a new 150m² spa and wellness space on the fifth floor of a mixed-use building in Sutton, Surrey, and are looking for an experienced lighting designer to produce a concept and specification for the interior lighting scheme.
The space includes treatment rooms, a relaxation lounge, wet areas, and a connecting corridor. The brief is centred on warm, low-level lighting - we want guests to feel immediately at ease. Key priorities are:
Warm colour temperature throughout (2200-2700k preferred)
Uplighting to define architectural features and create height
Thoughtful detail lighting - niches, shelving, product displays, mirror surrounds
Low-budget approach: specifying standard, accessible LED products creatively rather than bespoke fittings
Guidance on switching/zoning to allow different moods across the day
Deliverables we need: a lighting concept with annotated floor plan, product schedule with supplier links, and a brief written rationale. We do not need full IES/DIALux modelling - this is a practical spec for a fit-out contractor to price and install from.
This is a compact project with a tight but realistic budget. We value creative thinking with affordable products over expensive fittings.
Can be located anywhere, ideally in the UK but not necessary if you can prove a strong portfolio of work and have the necessary experience.
