Description
Experience Level: Entry
I am creating a large gallery wall in my living room. The centerpiece will be a Samsung Frame TV, surrounded by a curated arrangement of my existing picture frames. Some frames already contain artwork/photos that I want to keep, some are open for new creative ideas, and two large frames (without glass) may be repurposed (e.g., to disguise a thermostat in a stylish way).
What I Have Already
A blank wall measuring 231 cm high × 488 cm wide (approx. 91" × 192") – photos attached.
A collection of frames with exact dimensions (see table below).
Some frames with existing art/photos that I want to keep.
A thermostat, heater vent, and sockets on the right side of the wall that must remain accessible.
Flexibility to purchase a Samsung Frame TV in the optimal size.
Special Notes
Two large frames do not have glass:
65 × 55 cm (inside 50 × 40 cm) → approx. 25.6" × 21.7" (inside 19.7" × 15.7")
105 × 72 cm (inside 97 × 64 cm) → approx. 41.3" × 28.3" (inside 38.2" × 25.2")
One of these could be used to frame the thermostat, but would need a creative solution (fabric, panel, mirror, artwork, etc.).
The California bear illustration (attached) should be included in one frame, with designer input on placement.
What I Need From You
1. Layout & Proportions
Recommend the best Samsung Frame TV size to anchor the gallery wall.
Propose 2–3 layout options for arranging frames around the TV.
Ensure the design accommodates thermostat, heater vent, and sockets.
Suggest placement/usage for the large no-glass frames.
Provide recommendations for what type of image/art should go into each individual frame (including those currently empty).
2. Creative Direction for Artwork/Photos
Suggest specific themes for each empty frame. I am looking for real image suggestions, not just generic mood ideas.
I am open to using some of my own photos, but I’d like clear recommendations.
Background on me for context:
Originally from Germany, currently living in Los Angeles with my partner who is from Cyprus.
I used to live in Amsterdam (a house image could be nice).
I like giraffes and donkeys, sunsets, and prefer modern art.
Propose whether to use black & white, color, or a mix.
Provide sample inspiration/mood boards for reference.
3. Visualization
Deliver mock-ups showing the TV + frames in proportion to the wall.
Indicate suggested artwork/image choices in each frame.
Style Guidance
Clean, modern, curated—not cluttered.
Reflects my lifestyle (travel, design, culture, creativity).
Balanced but not overly symmetrical.
Deliverables
2–3 layout mock-ups (PDF/image).
TV size recommendation.
Suggestions for filling empty frames and creative use of no-glass frames.
Clear list of recommended images/art per frame.
What I’m Looking For in a Designer
Experience with gallery wall, styling, or visual merchandising.
Strong layout and storytelling skills.
Creative approach to problem-solving (e.g., thermostat integration).
