Description
Experience Level: Expert
Information for the business: IGD is the UK's food and grocery industry membership body.
Industry: Business
Design details: We research retail and shopper trends and share our insights with our members online and at a series of events One area of focus is the convenience sector (ie, small, local food and grocery stores rather than large supermarkets and hypermarkets.) A subsector of convenience is the Symbol Group sector, in which individual shopkeepers buy in to a franchise and operate under that brand, such as Londis, Costcutter, Nisa and Premier.
Target audience: Food and grocery manufacturers, who sell their products to retailers, who sell them to shoppers. It's for a business audience, who will be time-pressed and therefore we need to sell in why they should read our content and attend our events - which is basically because doing so will help them better understand retailers (ie, their customers) and the customer's customer (ie, shoppers)
Ideas for the visual style: Shopping baskets, small stores, sales growth. It's about demonstrating trends, top 5 things etc etc
Things to avoid: cartoons, mustn't be juvenile
Urls to draw inspiration from: http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/236x/ec/29/12/ec2912e340ed1eb8c52082c84d0d3ba4.jpg; http://www.digitalstrategyconsulting.com/intelligence/2013/04/79_drop_in_retailers_shopping_integrations_within_google_us_infographic.php; http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&frm=1&source=images&cd=&docid=uMWtvV0GxSuMVM&tbnid=J3grmQmgNbMx8M:&ved=0CAEQjxw&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.accenture.com%2Fus-en%2FPages%2Finsight-seven-major-trends-redefining-communications-service-provider-industry-infographic.aspx&ei=HmliU5-aBseb0QXnuICACA&bvm=bv.65636070,d.ZWU&psig=AFQjCNEYhPQXgN7TNXgh30uKuG3UM4Psyg&ust=1399044691205491
Where the design will be used: web, social media
Extra notes: I attach the content, which has a number of key stats and a 'so what?' implication. I will also attach the IGD logo, which needs to appear prominently.
