We have developed the technology(intelectual property protected) that makes it possible to produce, for the first time, a portable solar water heating panel. A potential customer has asked us to produce a version for them where it is built into a rucksack cover so that trekkers can have hot water to rehydrate foods, make hot drinks or just to sterilise their water.
Our materials will adapt to the task but we need an imaginative touch of flair to enhance the finished appearance, give it some 21st century military style.
We\'d need engineering drawings and CAD data so that we can take the next step of having a model made for customer approval.
Google a rucksack cover and you\'ll see that it is just a bag, like a large shower cap, with an elasticated/drawstring opening that slips over a rucksack to protect it from all weather. This would look, in its most basic form, like a cover with a rectangular black mat (flexible heat pad 25cm.x60cm.)with a clear plastic cover, built into it.
You can see the need to improve the styling to make this device attractive, sexy.
The successful applicant needs imagination in addition to the drawing and CAD skills.
The options for styling lie in the shape of the panel (maintaining surface area)and the styling of the top transparent cover which must maintain a minimum air gap of 10mm but can be shaped in depth.
The device also has an inlet and seperate outlet for attaching a water bottle.
Called The Water Otter (TWO) the acronym should be included in the artwork together with a sillhouette of an Otter as a logo.
The heat pad has a thermo chromic indicator(temperature sensitive paint) that becomes visible when key temperature is reached. On our mark one, larger version, this is in the shape of a red chevron that glows when temp reached, but it can be anything.
