Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Estimated project duration: less than 1 week
The client is a U.S. aerospace and defense munitions manufacturer. They are installing a company-wide Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system developed by IFS. See https://www.ifsworld.com/us/industries/aerospace-and-defense/aerospace-and-defense-manufacturers/ for more information about the ERP solution. The infographic poster is intended to encourage adoption of the new ERP system by end users, getting them excited about what is changing. The infographic should include the following key message, reinforcing messages, data points and IFS customer statements. Please use the attached “Car Logo” with this tag line (italicized Franklin Gothic Demi Cond font): “[Client] ERP… Engineered for the Road Ahead…Drivers Needed”
KEY MESSAGE: The new ERP will automate many of today’s manual processes.
REINFORCING MESSAGES: By creating and maintaining purchase orders. By leveraging vendor sourcing and spend analysis. By improving demand planning and forecasting.
RELEVANT DATA POINTS (1) Today, if a purchasing manager walks approximately 1000 steps to manually open, manage, and close each purchase order, that is about half a mile of walking per order! One client office processed 600 purchase orders in 2017. The new ERP will automate purchase order creation and management, allowing that purchasing manager to spend less of her time walking from desk to desk. (2) Today, the company manually manages approximately 80,000 suppliers across six divisions; most of them have duplicate addresses and other identifiers. The new ERP will automate vendor management by reducing that number to about 20,000…without removing any current customer from the system. (3) Today a process manager typically will choose among four or five different ways of establishing and managing a project, resulting in costly inconsistencies. The new ERP will enable a consistent project management methodology across the entire enterprise, improving the company’s project management data which will lead to better, more cost-effective business decisions. (4) See the attached “What Is Changing” for additional data points.
IFS CUSTOMER STATEMENTS: (1) “IFS allowed us to achieve better collaboration between our divisions from ‘shop floor to top floor.’” (2) “IFS provided greater visibility of information throughout the company.” (3) “The implementation of IFS Applications will enable us more easily to improve our profitability by decreasing delivery cycle times, reducing operational costs, and improving the productivity of our employees.” (4) “We have lowered our IT costs, strengthened our position as a supplier, and can now manage a larger customer base and more orders.” (5) “IFS offers industry-specific competence and is easy to collaborate with.” (6) “With IFS, we’re able to utilize a lot of best practices to be able to improve processes in many areas. (7) By eliminating the use of spreadsheets and (outdated) legacy applications (we) had relied on previously and moving all of its data into a single location, users have clear, faster access to the data they need. These time savings result in significant cost savings for the company. Vital data can be accessed easily and instantaneously. (8) We’ve been very pleased with IFS and how easy it is for people to learn.” (9) “By using IFS, we’ve concluded that we could greatly reduce our lead times in delivering products to the customer. (10) Every day I have the information I need right in front of me.” (11) “Having better visibility of data today allows us to make better decisions in the running of our businesses. (12) Users are able to drill-down to key metrics required to avoid surprises and to better plan day-to-day activities. (13) Having complete visibility of manufacturing processes and supply chains has revolutionized how (we) operate.”
