Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Information for the business: This is a social psychology lab
Industry: Education
Design details: I have an illustration of students that has already been drawn. However, I would like to add an elaborate gradient coloring to all the figures. I want this graphic of students to be a main focal of the header of a Wordpress site. When visitors come to the site, I want them to immediately think about modern, cutting edge, scientific research.
Target audience: College students, Ph.D students, professors of psychology
Ideas for the visual style: A gradient 'heatmap' filled in the illustration. Each student could be a different shade.
Things to avoid: Youthful, graffiti,
Preferred colors: Colors you find in a scan/imaging of a brain
Urls to draw inspiration from: http://jeb.biologists.org/content/209/15/2902
Where the design will be used: A website
Extra notes: I'll also need the name of the lab incorporated into this design. In a modern font style. A few options of this font would be nice. Because this site is aimed at social psychologists and psychology students I'd really like the reaction to the graphic to strike people as 'clever'. Think Science and Nature the journals. A little retro/vintage look may go a long way. But I don't want to commit heavily to one time period or 'theme'. I would like the image of the students to look less hand drawn, so obscuring the black outlines may be a good idea. However, this graphic needs to seamlessly work with a website that has a white background. If you are someone who has a bit of an interest in science or psychology you would be ideal. BONUS if you are a designer/illustrator who also knows their way around wordpress (but that's not required).

Hi Alison
Does the project still open for proposals? Do you have a time scale and a budget or do you prefer a quote?
Thank you,
Alma
