I've created a short ebook about Coaching for teachers, intended as a free giveaway to get people to sign up to a newsletter. I'd like a series of 5 amusing cartoons to make people smile as they read the book. The characters should be recognisably teachers, and I'm thinking a sparse, simple style in black and white would work well, as in the 'Eric and Bill' cartoons (one attached, along with a Marty Bucella one I also quite liked). Often less is more!
In the first cartoon the officious headteacher is standing at the whiteboard and pointing at the kind of utterly unrealistic type of programme that schools often try - the joke is that coaching is actually a highly skilled activity that can't be learned in 45 minutes! The passive staff could look bored or amused or distracted.
I've not used PPH before so am not exactly sure of the process of coming to an agreement. It makes sense to experiment a little to get the first cartoon right and then make an agreement for the remaining 4. My budget is small but I hope that for an experienced cartoonist what I'm looking for is very achievable!
(The second shows how coaching should not happen - a very distracted 'coach' paying attention to mobile/laptop/bell/child at door while saying 'do be assured of my complete undivided atten....')
I look forward to seeing your proposal!
