Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
We are a translation agency that has typesetting / artwork jobs about once a month. They're nearly always quick turnaround (there's a surprise) and lots of the time the files are sent in CS4 so you would need to have that version please.
We're looking to work with people who are good at communicating - those type of people who answer emails, their phones, SMS etc because when we're on a job, we're on it!
We will at first, send a test piece overto all applicants - this will be a job that has ALREADY BEEN DONE - we're not trying to get anythign for free here, but we do need to see how you can work with foreign languages (i.e. a 5 word sentence fit into a space for 3 words!). This is crucial - if you don't 'get it' we can't work with you. The toss up beween the clients' brand, the space available and the technical sentence structure is crucial. Of course, we also have to know how to 'bend' the client!
We are willing to work with someone who hasn't dealt the with languges before - we'll educate you! and i'm sure you can educate us in the process too!
When we get jobs, we'll send the same offer email to say, 4 or 5 designers we have on our list because hopefully not all of you will be available at the drop of a hat, so we'll go with the person who is the best quality, who can fit it into their schedule the best. We'll ALWAYS be fair.
We would like to pre-agree hourly rates as much as possible, but we know that this isn't always possible.
We like to think we're a nice client - although we demand perfection and have tight deadlines, we're fair, honest, will always tell you what's happening and understand graphics enough to talk to you sensibly! (we hope...)
Looking forward to hearing from you. (Scuse the typos - i'm in a rush!)
