Description
Experience Level: Entry
We are looking for a designer to create an illustration/infographic, that sets out the 4 levels of digital skills (as detailed below), in a clear and interesting way.
1. Basic functional digital skills: Accessing and engaging with digital technologies
These can be seen as skills that are essential to being able to access and begin to use digital technologies.
There are a number of such 'foundational skills' that allow an individual to operate devices, to connect to the internet, to set up accounts and profiles, and to access information and resources. E.g. searching, messaging, downloading, editing, banking, health information.
2. Generic digital skills: Using digital technologies in meaningful and sectors specific ways
Competencies here range from basic issues of data storage, farmers in sub-Saharan Africa, teaching, management and organization, awareness of the permanence of data gathering, together with an individual's ability to retain control of data and information in terms of data privacy and digital identity.
3. 'Higher level' skills: using digital technology in empowering and transformative ways
includes the advanced skills that form the basis of specialist ICT occupations and professions. These high-level technical skills that are not developed through everyday technology use. These skills include proficiency in programming languages, data analysis, processing and modelling skills, and so on.
4. Twenty first century skills
The term 'twenty first century skills' generally encompasses areas such as communication, collaboration and teamwork, critical thinking and problem-solving,
creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship.
