Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: 3 - 4 weeks
Information on the business: Games Development Team
Industry: Internet/Software
Design details: Hi all, after an unsuccessful post for this job, we're looking again to contract someone to work with Dead Teddy Development, a small games team in Melbourne, Australia. We're currently putting our first game together, so we're passionate and keen about the work we're doing and looking for someone with the same motivation behind them- not just a job for money.
What we're after is someone to make 2D frame-animated sprites based from finished character designs we will provide. The job has the potential to continue for better pay once we get this first load of work done as we are seeking internet funding from the gaming community to keep development going.
That being said, there are a few guidelines we would like any applicants to adhere to;
- if you are interested, tell us why. Don't give us one sentence with your qualifications or a list of programs you're savvy with.
- you will of course have questions, please ask them!
- you must be able to work to a deadline
- you MUST show your work when asked, and make frequent check-ins with the team via Skype or the workstream and upload your working files to a dropbox folder as you go
We're looking for someone with the technical skills to help us turn this project around, and a passion to start out in the games industry with us.
A rough list of requirements will be attached in a PDF explaining the characters and the frame-rate/resolution etc.
Please DO NOT ask to see any character designs or working files from us, we will not give out any work without Non-Disclosure Agreements being signed; in other words, we would like someone who knows how long this kind of illustration work takes them, and how much they're willing to work for. We don't have a large budget at the moment, so try to keep that in mind when you make a proposal.. You might be fantastic, but if we can't afford your help, we can't afford your help.
Thank you all in advance for your interest and we look forward to hearing back from you!
Ideas for the visual style: Think 16-bit game sprites, mixed with the HD Earthworm Jim remake- retro feel but not pixelated
Extra notes:
