Description
Experience Level: Expert
I’m working on a poster campaign for an initiative called The Daily Mile, which is a national initiative to get primary school students to get healthier, I am working with some primary school teachers and young people from Lewisham, South East London to design a poster that will encourage all the schools in the area to get involved in the initiative.
We have come up with a concept that needs to be brought to life and was hoping you could help. The poster needs to be fun, colourful, easy to read and engaging. Text used should be easy to read but fun in order to highlight it’s an initiative for primary school children
Our idea is the poster will be split into 2 scenarios, showing the negatives the initiative is trying to combat, and then the positive being children doing it.
The artwork is to be done in animation, we are not using real Children.
Scenario 1 Classroom:
We see three children sitting at the front of a classroom at individual desks:
Black girl is looking out of the window finding it hard to concentrate
White boy, slightly overweight is half asleep at his desk
Asian girl (in wheelchair), desk may look different to highlight she has a disability, has head in hands and has a very anxious look on her face.
This half of the poster can be dull looking, maybe sepia/black and white feel
Text to go on this half
At age 10-11 (year 6), 21.0% are obese and 14.1% overweight.
8 - 11% of children and adolescents suffer from an anxiety that affects their ability to get on with their lives.
Across the middle, slogan/tagline (we have a few of these and still need to decide but use the following as holding)
HAVE FUN, GET FIT, IT’S FREE WITH THE DAILY MILE (The Daily Mile to be highlighted in different colour and bigger in font size’
Scenario 2
All 3 Children running/wheeling face on towards ‘Camera’ with huge smiles on their face while partaking in exercise for the daily mile.
Text to go on this side:
Improves children’s fitness (9% increase), leg strength (5% increase) and body composition (4% reduction in body fat)
Children report feeling calmer after completing The Daily Mile
Size for the poster
Visual Size : Bleed/Artwork Size :
1160mm x 1710mm
1195mm x 1760mm
I’ll require a mock up version by Thursday so the teachers can feedback to students, and then if happy would require final version by early Jan or quicker if possible.
Please let me know if you can achieve this and associated costs.
