Logo and mascot design

I require a logo for a conference that uses a gopher mascot. This job is very specific in that the mascot needs to look quite basic as there is an agreed gopher style globally that this type of conference uses.

We have previously had a mascot that is too 'polished':

The initial job requirements are:
- Drawing of a gopher character in the same style as other global gophercon characters
- Incorporation of all or part of the character into a 'Gophercon UK' logo

We will then probably post a secondary job that requires incorporating the gopher character into a London scene.
