Graphic Symbol Design

My narrowboat is called Per Ardua. Translated it is the first part of the Latin phrase Per Ardua ad astra which means "through adversity to the stars" or "through struggle to the stars".

I need a graphic symbolising this meaning created, suitable for CNC machine carving into hardwood. So it needs to be simple, striking and mono with no shades of grey.
