Design a family crest/logo

Looking to create an illustration for a family crest, like a logo or badge. this badge will be embodied onto fabric clothing.

This badge will need to be an original design of some form of clock, perhaps an old old school pocket watch. And include the letter 'D' in the design (somehow - looking for advice on this) and with a small slogan underneath saying 'Time is Everything' or 'A time to be born' TBC.
