Create a seamless repeat pattern in Illustrator

Hi, I would like help creating a seamless repeat pattern design on Illustrator.
Theme of this design is dogs and summer. I would like different kinds of dogs mixed between fun summer-related objects, such as ice cream cones, watermelon slices, sunglasses, slippers, etc.
I've attached a draft idea I've created on my own as a reference sample, but definitely open to you as the designer taking a fun and creative spin on it.
The ultimate goal is to have a design that gives dog lovers a feeling of fun, vibrant summer vibes.
As collaboration is key for me, I would like to have the opportunity for 3 revisions/amendments to finalise the design, to be delivered in both the original working file format and a high-resolution image.
