Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
This artwork to be used on publicity for Remembrance Event on 10th November. No text , just image at this stage.
Event is mixture of performance poetry and choral music and is entitled 'A Day to Remember'. The title may appear on the artwork.
Performers are Toby Thompson (poet, picture attached) and Letchworth City Chorus (choir, lots of pics of us on our social media but not sure any suitable for this).
Performance takes us from the naive optimism of the young WW1 conscripts, via the fears of their mothers and sweethearts to the brutal and deadly reality of the trenches.
An envisiging dark and powerful artwork, using image of Toby, poppies, maybe barbed wire, other trenches imagery. Something to evoke the love, life and loss of war.
