An illustration of a sculpture being developed to commemorate the end of WWI

Design details: I need an illustration for a sculpture project I'm developing to commemorate the end of World War One.



You can see it at http://www.worldpeacecandle.co.uk. The World Peace Candle is on the 'Home Page' and I'd like an illustration showing it in a secular architectural setting. Other photographs of it can be seen on the 'The Artist - Sculptures' page, and there's a scan on the '3D Model' page. I can supply more photos from different angles if necessary.


I want the illustration to show the finished work (that will be 221cm. high with a candle 92cm. x 7.5 cm in diameter) in an architectural setting that conveys it's scale and grandeur. The illustration will have it's own dedicated web page and it must be a spectacular image that's impressive and dramatic enough to capture the imagination and inspire sponsorship for the project.

As a starting point you are invited to imagine the Peace Candle in a large secular space with a high ceiling, atmospheric light and possibly some steps. You may also include people if you wish. This is just an indication to set your imagination off and you're invited to play with it and develop it according to your own vision. They are not fixed elements that must be included in the final drawing and so there's scope for some imagination here.

Whatever the architectural setting you create, it must not become the main focus of the image. It can be economically suggested, or perhaps treated impressionistically, so that it creates an appropriate (secular) context for the Peace Candle which is the main subject matter. The illustration should maintain a visual consistency and unity of style between the arcitectural setting and the Peace Candle. For example, I don't want a graphic style for the background with a photograph of the Candle pasted on like a collage. The illustration can in any style whatsoever, and either in colour or monochrome, but it must be visually consistant throughout.

At this stage I'd welcome your initial thoughts along with some examples of previous work. I also need a price for your work, and a realistic deadline which you are confident will be met. Ideally I would like the work finished within 7 days.

Should you be asked to undertake the work I'd expect to see some initial sketches outlining your ideas, and following a consultation, either by phone or Skype, I will choose one to be further developed. There may be a another consultation and development stage, if necessary, before you complete the illustration.
