Hi all,
Hope you are well.
I’m looking for a creative illustrator to design a slow loris themed mug and packaging.
The brief
I would like you to design a pattern for a mug/the box design (full colour) that features a slow loris, known by the character name ‘Slow Stanley’. The illustration needs to be original (no use of stock vectors or anything like that) with a light-hearted design style that would appeal to adults and children alike. Happy for you to take creative freedom and come up with some design concepts for the character illustrations and pattern design of the mug/box. I will discuss the project in further detail with the selected illustrator, however at this stage I’m looking for illustrators who would find this a fun project to collaborate on and what the proposed cost would be.
If this was to go well I would look to work with selected illustrator on more projects in the future. Ideally I would like to create an illustration/character that can be utilised on other products.
I would like the selected illustrator to sign an NDA which essentially says once payment has been made the rights of the design are transferred to myself, if this is an issue please don’t apply.
I’ve included design format details from the printers below:
Creating your Artwork
Maximum Print Size: 19.3cm x 7.9cm (design wraps around). Assembled mug boxes are approx 10cm (h) x 10.5cm (w) x 9.5cm (d).
The starting point and most important aspect of a printing job is your design. Making sure that your artwork file is sent across to us correctly is crucial...
Colour Format: CMYK
File Format: PSD, AI, PDF, JPEG, TIFF, EPS
File Resolution: 300dpi
A few tips to get awesome results...
1. Create your artwork with the resolution at 300dpi - the larger and clearer your file is, the better the end result when printed. Please note, we don’t accept 72dpi files as they are not adequate to create a quality job.
2. For best results when printing Black, we find that the colour values should set to rich black (not true black). Setting the CMYK values of any black in your mug design to C:91 M:79 Y:62 K:97 will produce better results than C:0 M:0 Y:0 K:100
3. The maximum printable position on the mug will mean the design will finish approximately 3cm either side of the handle. From the top and bottom of the mug, we leave a white border (approx 0.5cm).
4. Want us to help position your artwork or logo on a mug? Just upload your design and let us know the positioning in the comments at checkout, and we can sort it out for you!
5. Think about the packaging for your mug - do you want a repeating pattern, or perhaps your logo and website? Be creative!
Look forward to hearing from you all!
Thanks,
Dan
