Description
Experience Level: Expert
Are looking for some graphic designs for a car instrument cluster/display. We are retrofitting a new instrument cluster for a classic Defender that comprises of two larger 4" displays on the left and right and a smaller 2" display in the middle - see attached design.
The left and right 4" displays are 180dpi and has two visible areas - D4a and D4b as per the attached, the middle 2" display is 170dpi and has one visible area D2a.
Our ideas are as follows, but happy to be guided by someone with more creative talent than we have!
D4a:
Design 1: A dial around the outside that shows speed in mph (from 10mph to 130mph) and some method of indicating the current speed.
Design 2: A dial around the outside that shows speed in kph (from 20kph to 220kph) and some method of indicating the current speed.
Design 3: A dial around the outside that shows rpm x1000 (from 0 to 6) and some method of indicating the current rpm value.
In the center of these designs, we should be able to accomodate the typical automotive warning and notification icons (which we can provide).
D4b:
Design 1: An odometer reading in miles.
Design 2: Current Londitude and Latitude.
D2a:
Design 1: A numeric indication of current speed.
Design 2: Engine temperature (from cold to hot - no numeric scale required) and Fuel level (from empty to full - no numeric scale required).
Any fonts used should be freely available so we can use the same font elsewhere on the displays if needed.
Hopefully that all makes sense, these are just ideas and happy to consider other approaches.
