Description
Experience Level: Entry
We are a small business providing a range of courier services throughout the UK and abroad, primarily serving other businesses.
We are seeking a talented graphic designer to create a Service Type graphic for our soon to be revamped website's quotation page https://www.sameday-delivery.co.uk/quote-request where it will be prominently displayed at the top of the page alongside 5 other service type graphics in a 2x3 grid.
If this project is successful, there will be an opportunity to design the remaining graphics under a separate project.
Project Brief:
Service Type Explanation: Ideal for non-urgent consignments requiring careful handling, such as unpackaged, fragile, or high-value items. This cost-effective road service operates within the UK and accommodates loads that fit into a small or transit van. Goods are co-loaded to save costs and delivered within 24 hours. Depots and hubs are not used.
Key Elements to Include:
1. Non-Urgent, Fragile Items: Visual representation of unpackaged, delicate, or high-value items to demonstrate the need for careful handling.
2. UK Road Service: Display of vans traveling through a stylised UK map or a recognisable UK landscape to indicate service areas.
3. Co-loaded Goods: Imagery of different types of items being securely loaded together in a van to emphasise cost-effective transport.
4. 24-Hour Delivery: A clock or similar symbol to showcase the guaranteed 24-hour delivery time.
Suggested Design Directions:
• Colour Palette: Use calming colours like light blue or green (reflecting the non-urgent nature) and bold, solid colours like brown or grey (indicating sturdiness and security).
• Typography: Choose a font that conveys reliability and steadiness, ensuring it is legible and trustworthy in appearance.
• Imagery: Incorporate pictures or graphics of a transit van, fragile items, and a clock to portray key aspects of the service.
• Icons and Symbols: Use icons representing fragility, like a broken glass symbol, and cost-saving, perhaps via a coin or piggy bank icon.
Graphic Composition Ideas:
1. Vulnerable Items Visual: Emphasise imagery of unpackaged, delicate items being carefully loaded or secured in the vehicle.
2. Vehicular Movement: Illustrate a transit van traversing across a symbolic UK route, ensuring a clear presentation of the service area.
3. Co-loading Illustration: Depict a variety of items being safely and securely transported together, underscoring the cost-efficiency via co-loading.
4. Time Indicator: Place a subtle yet visible clock or time symbol to denote the 24-hour delivery timeframe.
5. No Hubs Visual: Utilise a crossed-out depot/hub symbol to visually communicate that depots or hubs are not used.
Key Service Highlight:
Our ability to collect and deliver goods across all parts of the UK within a 24-hour timeframe is our main selling point. This needs to be the central theme of the graphic. Ensure the depiction showcases our nationwide coverage prominently, rather than focusing on any specific region.
Depicting Our Service Benefits:
• Emphasise our specialty in handling fragile items like statues, sculptures, antiques, and sensitive equipment.
• Demonstrate our cost-effectiveness and our unique no-depots/hubs model.
Map Presentation:
Consider using a flat map presentation for simplicity and improved readability.
Visual Impact:
Aim for a concept that is visually striking and grabs the viewer's attention immediately. The design should clearly communicate our unique value proposition at a glance. It should be bold and impactful, suitable for a business audience, and leave a lasting impression.
How to Apply:
If you are interested in this project, please provide a portfolio of your previous work, particularly any examples relevant to this brief.
