Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Information for the business: We offer professional Poker satellite tournaments for seats into the Main Events of the WSOP and the WPT poker series.
Industry: Entertainment
Design details: We are offering bi-weekly WSOP/WPT Main Event Poker tournaments where players can pay as little as $500 for a seat and win as much as $10,000 toward a seat at the most prestigious tournament in poker history: The World Series of Poker Main Event. This is an event that generally draws between 7,000 and 9,000 people from all over the world. Amatuers and professionals alike can be seen plying their skills for a shot at that first place prize money that has historically been in excess of $6 million dollars.
We need a pamphlet with the following attributes:
- 2-sided - Portrait orientation to be used as a tri-fold brochure for easy pocket storage. Unfolded size ~4"W x 12"L which folds down to 4"x4".
- 3 4"x4" panels on each side making for a total of 6 panels. Each panel will be a new aspect or "message" of our games that we're trying to get across and the paper will be folded on these panels making a tri-fold brochure. This should be taken into account when determining the outside margins for each of the panels. While I want every possible millimeter of paper used I don't want any information lost or obscured because it landed in a crease.
- The paper stock for this will be discussed with another vendor but suffice it to say it will be something between heavy paper stock and light card stock. We want this to be something people carry around with them for long-term reference.
- While some specific images will be provided many other that will be used will come from the WSOP and WPT websites. We are looking for VERY high WOW value in the visuals.
- Panel Content (First cut)
- Side 1 Panel 1 - Company name and logo, tag line
- Side 1 Panel 2 - Stock images from WSOP and WPT, Image of host, company pledge (to be provided later)
- Side 1 Panel 3 - More WSOP/WPT stock images, images of poker rooms, description of services (to be provided later)
- Side 2 Panel 1 - Even more WSOP/WPT stock images as watermarks, Tournament Blind Structure (to be provided later)
- Side 2 Panel 2 - More images of poker rooms, Game schedule, seat fee, add-on vs. rebuys/re-enter (to be provided later)
- Side 2 Panel 3 - Company logo as watermark, Rules of the House (a list of rules for how the games will be run will be provided later)
Target audience: Local Poker professionals
Ideas for the visual style: See WSOP and WPT websites for ideas here
Things to avoid: Blah and boring presentation.
Preferred colors: Use websites to get the right color scheme. Poker colors are all bright, mostly primary colors.
Urls to draw inspiration from: www.wsop.com, www.wpt.com
Where the design will be used: Mostly print. An image of it may be displayed on a website someday.
Extra notes: In order to completely understand what this job is all about you're going to need to understand the world of Professional Poker. The events, the movers and shakers, the biggest names and the history of Texas Hold 'em. You're being called upon to use that knowledge and your ability to design print copy that just POPS.
Your product must pique people's interest at first glance. It must evoke the kind of excitement and curiosity that nearly forces the reader to inquire further.
Attached are 3 out of 4 pictures of an excellent example of what we're trying to do. This is from the Bicycle Casino and is a perfect example. PPH wouldn't let me upload the 4th. If you're interested let me know and I'll send you the 4th outside this post.
So, can you step up and be bold? I hope so....:)
