We are planning to develop a microcontroller based (preferably 8051) 6 Digit display unit with the following capabilities. Please note that we need to make this circuit compact and a low cost one.
This circuit should display random numbers on the segment depending on the following criteria.
User should be able to configure the digits to be displayed (from 1 Digit to 5 Digit). if the user selects 1 Digit, then only series of 1 digit numbers should be displayed in the segment.
User should be able to configure the total numbers in a sequence to be displayed. (if user selects 10, then 10 numbers should display and should wait for the user to push the answer button) We need a circuit where we can configure the total numbers to be displayed and then it shows the answer after user presses a button. Once the answer is displayed, then the program should reset and again start with another set of numbers (with same settings configured earlier) and the process continuous till user interrupts.
The numbers displayed can be random numbers.
User should be able to configure the speed of the flashing numbers (Speed should be configurable between .2seconds to 15 seconds)
The operators + and - should be randomly used. Under no circumstance, the value (even i between the sequence) should go in negative.
