Description
Experience Level: Expert
Design details: Design brief: brochure/booklet
The task is to design an approx 16 page self cover booklet, page size 210mm x 210mm, intended for both on screen use (as a PDF) and print.
Provided is an .indd document with logos and text on each page.
The target audience is senior managers in insurance companies. (Not general public, not insurance buyers).
The brochure describes the services our client is capable of delivering to insurance companies.
Deliverables
Final deliverable will be an InDesign package including fonts and images/comp images.
Fonts must be PostScript (Mac) or OpenType.
All type in the document should be in Paragraph Styles to allow easy changes.
Never use blank lines for spacing, always use leading or para spacing controlled from a style sheet.
Target audience: Senior managers in insurance companies
Number of pages needed: 16
Content on the front/back side and body: image and text
Ideas for the visual style: see comments above
Extra notes: What our client does
When an insured business has a claim, they notify their insurance company. The insurance company sends an assessor to assess the claim. Many companies outsource assessment to external experts.
Our client is a provider of insurance assessments.
So our client sells insurance claim assessments to insurance companies.
This brochure targets senior managers in those insurance companies.
Visual impression
Corporate. Large. Professional. Efficient. Fast. Reliable.
See the Glide style guide. We value open, flowing design; we dislike boxy, constrained, too-busy designs.
We are big on typography, especially good management of inter-paragraph spacing, opening text highlights and call-outs.Colours, fonts
Our client uses two logos, the main logo (black and red 0:91:87:0 and a shadow grey 0:0:0:20) and the secondary logo (black and orange 0:58:100:0). These colours must be maintained but a new compatible colour could be introduced.
The fonts in the logos are set. The main logo uses ITC-Eras Medium for the slogan and an unknown Helvetic for the ANA. The font used in the secondary logo is thought to be Frutiger 67 Bold Condensed or Frutiger Condensed Bold depending on the version.
No text font has been set for this company, please choose one. It must be Apple-compatible Postscript or an OTF.
Images
Part of the task is to source images. Please use http://depositphotos.com/ and place comps in the artwork. Ensure the comp is saved as a link with a searchable name so we can find the image on Deposit Photos. We will download and update at out end.
If you are short of a specific type of image you can also use https://stock.adobe.com/au/ but please use Deposit Photos for preference.
Selecting images
Choose corporate style images with people where possible. Prefer big, bold images that have action, tell a story.
Images can be:
• Our client in action, professional people getting a job done in the office and in the field
• Illustrations of types of insurance covered.
Must choose only images that represent the areas our client works in. These are:
Property: commercial/industrial property (but no residential).
Also strata titled property (ie, multiple offices, factory units, all part of one building with common walls). Strata only can include residential.
Engineering: machinery breakdown, boilers/pressure vessels, process plants, pumps, power generation equipment
Electronics/Electrical: computers, office equipment, motors, generators
Construction: buildings, civil works, heavy plant/equipment, liability
Mining Operations and Equipment
Public/Product Liability: personal injury and property related claims
Business Interruption: cost of lost business and cost of getting restarted.
Accident/Failure Investigation: personal injury, workplace accidents, mobile and fixed plant and machinery
Environmental contamination: fuel/oil spillage
Types of events covered include fire, storm, water damage, impact, lifts, machinery breakdown, fusion, break-in theft, business interruption, accidents, harm to people, damage caused by faulty products or services.
Note: No motor vehicle accidents; no domestic claims (business focus).
