Custom Map Poster with Photos

I'm want to create a poster/picture map of a trip I took to Scotland, with the route driven and then photos at various points around the trip - ideally A3 sized that I can then put in a frame to hang as a memento of the journey.
I have the .kml files of the journey, which I'd like split into sections (I have each day as a separate file), and also picked out the photos that I'd like to include.
I tried to do something using Google Maps, but don't have the design skills to get it looking right. I want to have this done before Christmas please.

Any bidders should please provide details of previous work that is similar to this.
