Seamstress for Youth Fashion Project

We need two dresses sewn from fabric and trims we'll provide, following clear written instructions for each. This is straightforward construction work — no design work or fabric sourcing required — pattern will need to be drafted to the measurements we provide.

Both pieces are for a one-off community fashion show, worn once each. They don't need couture-level finishing — clean, well-made garments that hold their shape are exactly what we need.

What we provide, for each dress:

All fabric, lining, trims, and closures, shipped directly to you
A clear written spec (fabric, structure, closure type, finishing notes)
A reference image of the design

What we need from you:

Construction of both pieces from the materials and instructions provided
Basic communication (a few progress photos during construction, for each piece)
Delivery of both by 12th September

UK-based preferred due to ease of delivery

This is a lovely, low-pressure project for a genuinely good cause — the show features original fashion designs by children aged 8–13, shown on a runway with professional photography for a published book. One dress is a 9 old's elegant 'star' dress'. The other is a 10 year old's striking 'fox' dress. Images of both pieces are in the files section of the posting.

Beyond the fee, you'll be credited by name in the published hardback book and online archive, your garments will be professionally photographed on the runway, and the pieces will go on to feature in future exhibitions — all genuine, lasting portfolio material. You will, of course, be invited to the show day on October 10th.

Budget: £320 for both garments.
