Estimated project duration: 1 - 2 weeks
Information for the business: CellarStone (www.cellarstone.com) is in the business of sales commission management software. Our software called QCommission and Easy-Commission enable companies to process the many commission plans.
Industry: Internet/Software
Design details: We are creating a cartoon character with several mood variations that we can use with funny comments about the pain of processing commission management would be clever in our marketing messages. We refer to the “commission headache”.
A white rabbit was identified as something we can mold into a fun character especially since “dangling the carrot” is identified in sales world as a type of incentive.
So I ran some images from the net past people on our team and here were some of the comments and identified most with the images attached in word doc.
• Need to convey: Comp admin; urgency; anxiety; sad sack look and feel. Cute; fluffy.
• I like #1 for its colorfulness.
• #2 is ok and probably more business feel, but kind of washed out color wise.
One of our competitors use the carrot in their images. examples in word doc.
Target audience: Our audience of potential buyers are 60/40 female/male as they are generally responsible for processing the commission statements for the sales team. Role falls within Accounting and or within Sales departments.
Messages to communicate through the design: We organize chaos with our software
Need to convey: Comp admin; urgency; anxiety; sad sack look and feel. Cute; fluffy.
Our software makes sales reps happy since they get clear accounting of their commissions and don;t need to keep separate set of books
as we go forward after this first design, we might look to create variations of moods and environments
Ideas for the visual style: see attached word doc. we seem to like fluffy characters and maybe they were a vest
Things to avoid: copyright related issues - must be royalty free
Extra notes: see attached word doc
we will be using image in social media, trade shows and our newsletter campaigns.
